  • Mark from an ink pen, crayon or permanent marker up to 6” in length

  • Rips, tears, and puncture

Wood and Hard Surface Furniture

  • Accidental stain attributed to a single incident

  • Scratch, gouge, chip, puncture, or dent that penetrates the surface to reveal the substrate beneath the finish

  • Liquid mark or water ring

  • Burn, singe, or heat mark

  • Breakage of glass or mirror

  • Fading caused by light or sun exposure

  • Breakage of steel frames and welding

  • Failure of integral electrical components including wiring, motors, and remote-control devices

  • Damage caused by power surges

  • Junction box failure

Additional coverage includes:

  • Structural or operational failure of components such as cracking or breaking of wood frames, breakage of furniture legs, mechanisms, springs, motors, welds, bases, electrical components, and handles necessary to the operation of the item

  • Seam and stitching separation

  • Broken drawer glide, knob, or pulls

  • Broken zipper or button

  • Loss of silvering of a mirror

  • Single incident of domestic pet damage on indoor furniture

Here are a few exceptions that are not covered

  • Accumulation (a buildup of stains or multiple damages)

  • Anything reported after 60 days of discovery

  • Odors

  • Loss of resiliency

  • Damage caused by misuse (such as jumping on furniture)

  • Abuse

  • Animal damage caused by paws, claws & jaws is excluded on area rugs and outdoor furniture

  • Damage covered by a Homeowner’s Policy

  • Using cleaning products not approved by the manufacturer or administrator

What is considered an accident?

An accident is a single incident that leads to a stain or damage. For example, if you hit the leg of your dining room table with the vacuum, and it leaves a gouge. Damage that has occurred over a period of time and not reported is considered accumulation and will not be covered.

How do I know if my issue is eligible for repair under warranty or Goof Proof®?

Our trained online support and in-home service teams will evaluate your issue, often requesting photos and detailed descriptions to help determine the best course of action.

What if I damage my furniture and didn’t purchase a Goof Proof® Protection Plan?

If your furniture has been damaged and is no longer covered under warranty, we may still be able to assist you! For a fee (if within Bob’s service area), we can schedule a service technician to visit your home and inspect the damage.

During the service appointment, the technician will attempt to repair the damage. If any parts are required, you can order them, and once they arrive, we can arrange for a technician to install them. To request service, please call or text Customer Support.

Can I purchase a new Goof Proof® plan for my replacement piece?

Absolutely! If a piece needs to be replaced through Goof Proof®, you can purchase a new 5-year Goof Proof® plan for the replacement item. If you need assistance with purchasing Goof Proof for your new piece, feel free to contact the Bob's Squad at 860-812-1111.

How Do I File a Goof Proof® Claim?

If a covered incident occurs, you can file a claim through the Goof Proof® portal here or by calling Uniters at (877) 358-3308. The process is straightforward, and once your claim is received, a representative will guide you through the steps needed to restore your furniture.

What happens if my furniture has to be replaced?

Replacement will occur if a covered stain or damage cannot be restored to factory standards under your Goof Proof® Plan.

If a replacement is necessary, it will be provided at no cost to you—there’s no depreciation or pro-rating of the value, and you won’t even pay for delivery of the new item.

Once a piece is replaced, the Goof Proof® contract for that item is considered fulfilled. The new item will come with Bob’s standard one-year guarantee against factory defects, and you’ll have the option to purchase Bob’s Goof Proof® coverage for your new item.

What happens to my Goof Proof® coverage if I move to an area outside of Bob's service area?

One of the great benefits of Bob's partnership with Guardian and Uniters is that they are a nationwide company, with service technicians available in all 50 states. This means you’ll have coverage anywhere in the U.S. if you purchase Goof Proof®! However, if you move outside of Bob's operational area (which continues to expand each year), we may not be able to provide coverage for defects in materials or workmanship.

What if my Goof Proof® Protection Plan claim is denied, and I’d like to file a dispute?

Why isn’t everything covered by Goof Proof®?

We understand that our customers want the best coverage at the best price. To offer great value, Goof Proof® covers the most common incidents that can happen in your home, all at an affordable price.

How do I know if I’ve already purchased a Goof Proof® Protection Plan for my furniture?

You can easily confirm if you've added Goof Proof® to your items in one of two ways:

Check your online account. Each item will indicate whether Goof Proof® was purchased.

Review your order invoice. In the ‘Goof Proof®’ column, look for the word ‘Accepted’ next to each item to confirm if the Goof Proof® Protection Plan has been applied.

Can I purchase Goof Proof® for commercial property?

Bob's Goof Proof® is exclusively available for private, residential purchases. If the furniture is intended for commercial use, it is not eligible for Goof Proof® protection.

Examples of commercial use include, but are not limited to:

  • A rental property (house or apartment)

  • An office space

  • A government building

Can I purchase Goof Proof® for my mattress?

Goof Proof® is only available for furniture items. To protect your mattress, we recommend one of Bob's Goof Proof® Mattress Protectors.
